On 2nd February, the Church celebrates the Presentation of Christ in the Temple, also known as Candlemas. Forty days after his birth, Jesus was brought to the temple by Mary and Joseph, fulfilling Jewish law. There, Simeon and Anna recognised him as the promised Messiah. This feast marks both obedience and revelationโChrist, the light to the nations, is made known. Traditionally, candles are blessed, symbolising Jesus as the light of the world, shining into darkness with hope and salvation.
